Isaac GP is the abbreviation of Isaac Gutiérrez Pascual. I’m from Spain, but currently I live in Estonia. I graduated in Mechanical Engineering in Cordoba University, (Spain) and I did my thesis in Crete (Greece) developing a regulation against Light Pollution. Always around the light.

My passion for photography has always offered me direct contact with the human side of a totally technical world. The knowledge gained in engineering studies has helped me to understand from the chemical process of the film development until the data processing of the digital image.

When I was 8 years old I was fascinated by the images of galaxies. I even had a toy telescope. When I was 13 I participated in a local scientific society where I learned how to increase the sensitivity to light of the films. At the age of 15, my uncle Lucas gave me his camera, and with 17 years I already had a small collection of astronomical photographs, including some of the Hale-Bopp comet.

In my photographs I have always wanted to capture images that are as real as possible. I started to study photography when I started my university studies. In 1999 one of my pictures earned a Special Mention of the Jury at the Astrophotography “Portraits d’eclipse” organized by the French magazine “Ciel et Espace” where in total 1,300 images were presented.

During the years that I’ve been taking pictures I’ve gone through various photographic equipment. As there is no brand to sponsor me, I will not give many details.
