About
Isaac GP is the abbreviation of Isaac Gutiérrez Pascual. I’m from Spain, but currently I live in Estonia. I graduated in Mechanical Engineering in Cordoba University, (Spain) and I did my thesis in Crete (Greece) developing a regulation against Light Pollution. Always around the light.
When I was 8 years old I was fascinated by the images of galaxies. I even had a toy telescope. When I was 13 I participated in a local scientific society where I learned how to increase the sensitivity to light of the films. At the age of 15, my uncle Lucas gave me his camera, and with 17 years I already had a small collection of astronomical photographs, including some of the Hale-Bopp comet. In my photographs I have always wanted to capture images that are as real as possible. This was the beginning of a long journey through the world of photography.
Although I have taught photography courses, held seminars and worked as a photographer, I am not a photographer.
During the years that I’ve been taking pictures I’ve gone through various photographic equipment:
- 2018 – Today – To avoid “object fetishism”: 1 camera + 2 lenses (sometimes I rent extra lenses).
- 2005 – 2018 – Canon DSLR and Mamiya RZ67
- 2002 – 2005 – Nikon SLR and Nikon Coolscan
- 1996 – 2002 – Olympus SLR OM-40 Program
The photographs that I have taken at weddings or for fashion have always been signed with various pseudonyms, and they do not usually appear on this website.
This is a website where I post images and texts about events or moments that call my attention or that I think deserve it, mostly in relation to my environment and from my personal point of view.
